Guide

Install OpsScaleIQ on Your Device

OpsScaleIQ is a Progressive Web App (PWA). Install it on your home screen to receive push notifications for critical review alerts and task assignments — even when the app is not open.

Why install the app?

  • Receive push alerts for Severity 2 & 3 reviews — even with the tab closed
  • Get notified the moment a task is assigned to you
  • Full-screen experience with no browser navigation bars
  • Works offline for reading previously loaded data
  • One-tap launch from your home screen or Dock

iPhone / iPad (iOS)

Safari required

iOS only allows home-screen installation from Safari. Chrome and Firefox on iOS will not show the install prompt.

  1. 1

    Open opsscaleiq.com in Safari

Make sure you are using the Safari browser (blue compass icon). Other browsers on iOS cannot install PWAs.

  2. 2

    Tap the Share button

At the bottom of the screen, tap the Share icon — it looks like a box with an arrow pointing upward.

  3. 3

Scroll down and tap "Add to Home Screen"

Scroll through the share sheet until you see "Add to Home Screen". Tap it. You can rename the app shortcut if you like.

  4. 4

Tap "Add" in the top-right corner

iOS will add an OpsScaleIQ icon to your home screen. The app now opens in full-screen mode with no browser chrome.

  5. 5

    Allow notifications when prompted

The first time you open the installed app, iOS will ask for notification permission. Tap "Allow" to receive critical alert push notifications.

Push notifications on iOS require iOS 16.4+ and the app must be installed to the home screen first.

Android (Chrome)

Chrome recommended

Android supports PWA installation from Chrome, Edge, and most Chromium-based browsers. Chrome gives the smoothest experience.

  1. 1

    Open opsscaleiq.com in Chrome

Navigate to the app in Chrome on your Android device.

  2. 2

Tap the three-dot menu (⋮) in the top-right

Look for the vertical three-dot overflow menu in Chrome's top-right corner.

  3. 3

Tap "Add to Home screen" or "Install app"

Depending on your Android version, you'll see either 'Add to Home screen' or a dedicated 'Install app' option with a download icon.

  4. 4

    Confirm the installation

A dialog will appear asking you to confirm. Tap 'Install' or 'Add'. The OpsScaleIQ icon will appear in your app drawer and home screen.

  5. 5

Open the app and allow notifications

Launch OpsScaleIQ from your home screen. Android will request notification permission — tap "Allow" to receive task-assignment and critical-review alerts.

If you do not see the install option, try visiting the site a second time or clearing Chrome cache.

Desktop (Chrome / Edge)

Windows, macOS, Linux

Desktop Chrome and Edge support PWA installation, giving you a standalone window and native push notifications without keeping a browser tab open.

  1. 1

Open opsscaleiq.com in Chrome or Edge

Navigate to the OpsScaleIQ app in a recent version of Chrome (v73+) or Edge (v79+).

  2. 2

Click the install icon in the address bar

Look for a small computer-with-a-download-arrow icon in the right side of the address bar (Chrome) or in the toolbar (Edge). Click it.

  3. 3

Click "Install" in the confirmation dialog

A small dialog will appear asking if you want to install OpsScaleIQ. Click 'Install'. The app will open in its own window.

  4. 4

Pin the app to your taskbar / Dock

Right-click the app icon in your taskbar (Windows) or Dock (macOS) and choose "Pin to taskbar" or "Keep in Dock" for quick one-click access.

  5. 5

    Allow notifications if prompted

When you first open the installed app, your OS will ask for notification permission. Grant it so you receive push alerts without the app being in focus.

Safari on macOS (v17+) also supports PWA installation via the menubar → File → Add to Dock.

Enabling push notifications after install

After installing the app, navigate to Settings → Integrations and scroll to Browser Push Notifications. Click Enable — your browser will ask for permission. Once granted, you will receive alerts for critical reviews and task assignments on this device.

Troubleshooting

I don't see the install option

Make sure you're using a supported browser (Chrome, Edge, or Safari). On iOS, installation only works in Safari. Try visiting the app twice — Chrome sometimes waits for a second visit before showing the install banner.

Notifications are not appearing

Check your device's system settings: Settings → Notifications → OpsScaleIQ (iOS) or Settings → Apps → Chrome → Notifications (Android). Make sure notifications are allowed both at the OS level and in your browser.

The app shows a blank screen after installing

Close and reopen the installed app. If the issue persists, uninstall the app and reinstall using the steps above. Clearing Safari / Chrome cache beforehand can also help.

Push notifications were accidentally denied

On iOS: Settings → Safari → Advanced → Website Data → search for opsscaleiq → delete the entry, then reinstall. On Android: Settings → Apps → Chrome → Permissions → Notifications → reset the permission.
